Gustavo Petro , Candidate for the Presidency, has confirmed the favouritism that was evident in polls over the last couple of weeks.
(Positions of those who are candidates for the Historic Pact to Pensions and Inflation).
http://www.portafolio.co/elecciones-2022/gustavo-petro-ganador-del-pacto-historico-562857 was won by Bogota’s previous mayor and senator of the Republic. The result officially means that he is a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic which that he hopes to win for the 3rd time.
The high percentage of votes he received during the consultation is the most representative of the Colombian Left and a solid potential presidential candidate despite the fact that his ideas and proposals are controversial on multiple fronts such as the economic one.
Petro stated his intent to alter pensions through the creation of a public administrator for pension funds. Petro also plans to create an arrangement that is “mixed-and-complementary” and private fund.
The candidate said that Colombia does not have a retirement system, but instead the system is designed to make bank profits. Many believe that this will prevent the candidate from becoming president. gustavo petro said that while he wouldn’t eliminate them but he would pursue reforms in pensions to ensure a minimum retirement age for Colombians. Petro said that there is “no requirement” to increase the age of retirement.

Another controversial issue is that he has repeatedly said that he will stop extraction of oil as soon as his appointment. This has caused confusion among investors and the market generally.
Experts estimate that Petro’s proposal to stop oil exploration could cost Colombia around $4.3 billion.
http://www.eluniversal.com.co/temas/-/meta/gustavo-petro calls for the formation of an anti-oil front in both the region as well all over the world to shift the economy away fro fossil fuels. I would like to invite Gabriel Boric to Chile and LuizInacio Lula de Silva to join me.
Petro said he’d talked to Pedro Sanchez, Spain’s Prime Minister, in recent times about his plan.
petro gustavo on health has been controversial, as he is insistent on ending EPS and replacing the model with a preventive health model that “guarantees individuals’ rights, not the bankers’ profit”.
He also raised questions regarding the legitimacy and independence of the Banco de la Republica.
Petro said that the Bank Board of Directors belonged to the Democratic Center and “What we need is an independent Bank of the Republic (…) it’s important that the Board of Directors is a part of society members,” the candidate stated during the debate.
Invamer claims that Petro is the president’s choice for decision to vote.
It was also controversial that he suggested of releasing money to fund the government’s expenses.
The main pillars of Petro’s plan are an economy that does not depend on fossil fuels, mining, or extraction of hydrocarbons, and increasing importance to agriculture.
http://www.semana.com/semana-tv/vicky-en-semana/articulo/me-preocupa-que-gustavo-petro-llegue-a-la-presidencia/202157/ is also stated that he will propose a tax reform that would eliminate exemptions as well as transform the concept and definition of minimum wage to an actual income-based wage.
