The Kerem Tunnel allows for a the most unique riding and hiking experience.
The Kerem Tunnel is the first cycle tunnel to be constructed in Israel and was inaugurated as a part of the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycle route that circles the capital.
It links Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. The southern entrance is located in Refaim Park, below Ein Laban while the northern entrance is in Nahal Ein Kerem, about half a mile from the Kerem junction.
The 2.1-kilometers-long tunnel project was officially inaugurated at a formal ceremony on Thursday , attended by Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin, Mayor Moshe Lion, Gihon water company chairman Avi Baleshnikov, and a slew of cyclists.

The current works include road construction, installation of blowers and advanced electrical and safety systems, to make the tunnel safe for the public to pass through throughout the year.
The Kerem Tunnel gives you access to numerous recreational sites, such as Ein Kerem Neighborhood, the Biblical Zoo and Aquarium, as well as historic natural springs Ein Haniyeh or Ein Laban.
