The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique ride and hiking experience that is to be loved by everyone.

The Kerem Tunnel, Israel’s newest bicycle tunnel, has been opened as part a 42-kilometer cycle route that is a loop around the capital.

The tunnel links Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. The southern entrance is in Refaim Park under Ein Laban. The northern entry, Nahal Ein Kerem, is just half a kilometer away from the Kerem junction.

Elkin’s Ministerial, Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and Gihon Corporation contributed approximately NIS 25 million to the project. The work was carried out by the Jerusalem Development Authority.

“The Kerem Tunnel project is a central tool for realizing the goal to alter the notion of transportation throughout Jerusalem,” Elkin stressed. Elkin explained that the proposed tunnel will connect to the Jerusalem Ring Path and will connect with existing bike routes. It will also be paved throughout its different neighborhoods. This will help cyclists and promote green transportation in the capital.
