The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique adventure in hiking and riding which is enjoyed by everyone.

The Kerem Tunnel, Israel’s newest cycle tunnel, is opened as part the 42-kilometer cycle route which runs through the capital.

It links Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. נווה פריצקי Its southern entry is located in Refaim Park under Ein Laban. The northern entry, Nahal Ein Kerem, is approximately half a mile away from the Kerem junction.

The 2.1-kilometers-long tunnel project was officially inaugurated during a celebration held on Thursday that was attended by Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin Mayor Moshe Lion, Gihon water company chairman Avi Baleshnikov and hundreds of cyclists.

Elkin stated that the Kerem Tunnel project is an important tool in realizing the goal to transform the idea of transport in Jerusalem. “The new tunnel, which will connect with the Jerusalem Ring Path, will connect with existing cycle paths within the city, and will be constructed within the diverse areas. The current works include road construction, installation of blowers as well as modern electrical and safety systems, to ensure the tunnel is safe for pedestrians to travel through all year round.
