The Kerem Tunnel is a great spot to hike and ride.
The Kerem Tunnel, Israel’s newest cycle tunnel, was inaugurated as part of a 42-kilometer cycle route that is a loop around the capital.
It connects Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. The tunnel’s southern entrance can be found in Refaim Park below Ein Laban. The northern entrance is in Nahal Ein Kerem about half one kilometer from the Kerem junction.
On Thursday, Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin, Mayor Moshelion, Avi Baleshnikov, Gihon chairman, and a slew of cyclists were present at a celebration to mark the opening of the tunnel’s 2.1-kilometer-long length.

The Kerem Tunnel was first excavated in the 1990s to move the main sewer line of the Gihon Corporation toward the purification plant located in Sorek It is situated just west of the city. It is used today as an infrastructure tunnel. It also houses the fifth water line, which connects to Jerusalem from the Mekorot water company.
