Pastor Chris The Man

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7, 1963 in Edo State in Nigeria. He was raised in a family of faith with loving, dedicated parents. He is the elder of three sons born to Elder T.E Oyakhilome (one of the founders of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City) and Angelina. Chris Oyakhilome Family Angelina was the matriarch and imprinted her divine grace on her son from a young age.

The LoveWorld ministry is a joint effort of the family. Reverend Ken is his brother and the revered pastor at Christ Embassy’s Houston Texas Church. He is also a part of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council. KattyWorghiren is the director for the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry, which has a host of gospel top-selling artists.

Pastor Chris has two daughters, Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon, who is also known by CSO is a CSO member who has decided to follow in the footsteps of her father, sharing the Word of God the world. She is a talented gospel artist, a Grammy-award winning singer and a member of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Family.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his studies in Edo College. After a grant was made to pursue a degree in the field of architecture at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Ali University), he was awarded the BSc degree in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. He also has an honorary doctorate in divinity awarded by the Benson Idahosa University. While attending Ambrose Ali University, he received a call from God to join the ministry and become an obedient servant of the Lord.

The Man Of God was an undergraduate student at the time he started the church that would eventually grow to become one of largest in the world. His small prayer group, ‘Youth For Christ’ would eventually become one of the campus’ most well-known groups. Under the guidance of Pastor Chris, under Pastor Chris’s direction, the LoveWorld ministry was a pioneer in satellite TV and Christian television production and programming. LoveWorldSAT was the first Christian television station broadcast out of Africa to the the world, 24/7, nonstop on free-to-air networks. There are LoveWorld television stations on satellite and cable networks across the globe.

Christ Embassy has strong presence in Pastor Chris’s homeland of Nigeria, South Africa and Canada. The ministry also runs two Healing Schools in South Africa, Canada and the US, where Pastor Chris runs sessions throughout the year, in which miracles are possible.

Music and Gospel Music form an integral part in worship. Pastor Chris is a strong advocate for gospel music. Christ Embassy Churches have a choir that is supervised and trained by the Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry. Many of these singers have successful solo careers.

The Future African Leaders Foundation concentrates its efforts on advancing the work of Pastor Chris. It acknowledges and helps young, talented leaders. Pastor Chris invests in the future of our youth to assist them in becoming tomorrow’s leaders.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was a zealous philanthropist who founded the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation (COFI) a nonprofit, nongovernmental organisation with the aim to assist the poorest people and communities in some the most impoverished regions and nations across the globe.

In addition to preaching the Gospel, The Man of God also established NGOs that have the mission of providing essential services and hope for the poor, needy or uninformed. Five partners form part of COFI, all working together to raise living standards in the poorest areas.

Under the auspices COFI are COFI’s InnerCity Mission (ICM) for Children as well as the Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC), Trauma Care International Foundation (TCIF), Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF), and the Bible For All Mission. Each of these organizations works to improve the lives, health and well-being of those most in need.

The charity also provides financial aid for children in need. Through COFI and The InnerCity Mission, Pastor Chris believes in supporting solid foundations for community through promoting good governance, accountable leadership as well as sustainable development in Africa and in other areas of vulnerability in the world , in line to the Sustainable Development Goals.
