Pastor Chris: The Man

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7, 1963 in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a faith-filled family with loving, committed parents. He is the oldest son of elder T.E Oyakhilome. Angelina, one of the early pioneers of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City, as well as the matriarch of the Oyakhilome clan. He is a recipient of an honorary doctorate in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. While attending Ambrose Ali University, he was prompted by God to join the ministry and be a servant to the Lord.

The Man of God began what would later become one of the largest church congregations in the world when the man was still at the university. He had an unassuming prayer group known as “Youth for Christ,” that eventually grew into one of one of the largest organizations of its type on campus and would serve as the basis of the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated with millions of followers around the world.

Under Pastor Chris’s leadership, LoveWorld became a pioneer of satellite television and Christian programming. LOVEWORLDSAT was the first Christian television station that broadcast out of Africa all day long on free-to-air channels. There are currently LoveWorld television stations available across satellite and cable networks across the globe.

Christ Embassy has a strong presence in Pastor Chris’s homeland of Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, who is a fervent philanthropist , founded the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation Inter (COFI) as an non-profit, non-governmental charity that is aiming to aid communities in need and people in the poorest parts of the world.
