Candidate Gustavo Petro confirmed on Sunday the favorable vote that polls had been highlighting for weeks.
(Positions for those who wish to join be included in the Historic Pact of Pensions and Inclusiveness).
The former mayor of Bogota and former senator of the Republic managed to win the victory in the Historic Pact coalition and officially becomes a candidate for presidency of the Republic which is a post to which he is aspiring for the third time.
He is the most authentic of the Colombian left and a strong candidate for president, despite his controversial ideas and proposals on many aspects, including economic.
Petro declared his intention to overhaul the pension system through the establishment of a public administrator for the pension fund. http://www.camara.gov.co/gustavo-petro-urrego is expected to be “mixed” and will complement the private fund.
He stated that Colombia does not have a pension system but instead, a system of bank profits. This is the reason that people believe makes Petro the most likely choice to become the President. Petro recently said that he will not abolish the system but would push for reforms to the pension system in order to ensure an income that is minimum for Colombians. Petro also said that there is no reason to increase the age of retirement.

http://www.semana.com/semana-tv/vicky-en-semana/articulo/me-preocupa-que-gustavo-petro-llegue-a-la-presidencia/202157/ that has been criticized concerning him is the fact that he repeatedly promises that he will end the extraction of oil once he comes into his office. This has created confusion among investors as as the market.
Experts say Petro’s idea of ending oil exploration would have a devastating effect on Colombia and cost Colombia $4.3 trillion.
In addition to this, the proposal is to create an anti-oil front in the region and the world, which moves the economy away from fossil fuels for which I’d like to invite the new president of Chile, Gabriel Boric, and the Brazilian Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, among other people.
Petro stated that he has spoken with Pedro Sanchez, the Prime Minster of Spain about his proposal.
His attitude on health issues is also controversial because he insists on eliminating EPS and replacing it with a proactive model that “guarantees the rights of individuals instead of the profits of bankers”.
He has also raised questions about the legitimacy of the Banco de la Republica and announced that he would also make a reform when he becomes the President.
Petro declared that the Bank Board of Directors belongs to the Democratic Center. Accordingly, the candidate at the center of a discussion said “What do we want? A truly independently run Bank of the Republic (…) It is to me crucial that the board of directors is a part of the Society.”
(Petro leads voting intention in the presidential election, according to Invamer).
Also gustavo petro was his idea to issue cash to fund the government’s expenditures.
Petro’s proposals include an economy that is not dependent on mining and extraction of hydrocarbons, as well as a stronger contribution from agriculture.
It is also highlighted that he is planning to implement an amendment to the tax code that removes exemptions as well as the replacement of the concept of minimum wages by a real wage based on capital and income.
