NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022/PRNewswire The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today new record-breaking tourist arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a four% increase over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than 2019.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. “The United States is our top market for inbound tourism to Israel and prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 was announced, we had record-breaking tourist numbers each month. We’re extremely pleased to witness an improvement in the trend and anticipate a steady upswing for the months and years to come.”

Canada is in the process, like the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022, Canada received 7,200 visitors and August was a record 6,600.

Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) said that “it is exciting to watch how Canada’s tourist to Israel is booming.” We are close to our record numbers for 2019, and we are anticipating that this surge in tourism to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more at ease when they travel abroad.

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from abroad in 2019, with 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter whether they’re vaccinated. Israel already has hosted more than 600,000 visitors.
