NEW YORK – September 8 2022- New record breaking tourist arrivals to the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022, an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States during August 2022. That’s 13% increase over the year before.

Already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking figure of the year 2019,” he stated. “The United States is the top market for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were celebrating record breaking numbers of tourists entering the country every month. This is a positive change that we are pleased to witness and anticipate an upward trajectory for many months to follow.”

Canada, not too far behind that of the United States of America, is set to beat its tourist arrivals to Israel. It had 7,200 visitors in July 2022, and 6,000 visitors in August.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that “it’s thrilling to observe how tourism in Canada is recovering.” “We are not far off our record-setting numbers in 2019 We are hoping that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians remain comfortable traveling abroad.”

Israel received more than 4.6 million international visitors in 2019 including 969.600 of them coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all visitors, regardless if they are immunized. Israel has already hosted more than 600,000.
