NEW YORK – Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswire/ — In July and August of 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record numbers of tourist arrivals from America. The country welcomed 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% over 2019.

Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner. נווה פריצקי He said, “It’s so exciting to again see an increase of tourism to Israel from America, already reaching or surpassing our record breaking numbers of 2019”. “The United States is our top destination for our inbound tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel each month. We are so happy to witness such a positive shift and expect this trend to last throughout the months and years to come.”

In line with in the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed the number of tourists visiting Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) stated that “it is thrilling to see how Canada’s tourism to Israel is growing.” We’re close to reaching our record-setting numbers for the year 2019 and we expect that this surge in tourism to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable at ease abroad.

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million international visitors in 2019 including 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all visitors, regardless whether they have been vaccination-free. It has already hosted more than 600,000.
